Memorial Day Holiday – NH DWI Saturation Patrols

Police officers conducting field sobriety test to young woman in white dress at night

Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of summer and is one of the most well-traveled holidays in New Hampshire.  According to the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism, New Hampshire should see approximately 540,000 out-of-state visitors for the Memorial Day weekend, the 4th busiest tourism weekend for the state.   Most of the holiday visitors hail from New England, New York, and Canada.  With so many motorists on the roadway during this holiday, the NH DWI Lawyers at Tenn And Tenn, P.A. take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend; and, to remind our friends not to drink and drive, as the NH and MA State Police are stepping up DWI patrols and Sobriety Checkpoints.

NH & MA Joint DWI Task Force

According to a joint press conference held Thursday by the New Hampshire State Police and Massachusetts State Police, holiday travelers can expect an increase in law enforcement patrols this weekend.  Marked and unmarked police vehicles will patrol the state highways looking for aggressive driving, speeding, and DUI impaired driving.  According to a news article in the ExeterPatch, NH State Police Major Russell Conte said,  “We aren’t here to ruin anybody’s day.”  According to the same source, Massachusetts State Police Major Edward Amodeo commented, “We’re here to save lives. That’s why we have a presence on Memorial Day weekend, that’s why we increase patrols and why we conduct sobriety checkpoints.”

Before heading out to celebrate Memorial Day, please make certain you have a sober ride home if you’re planning to drink. The NH DWI Lawyers maintain a Statewide practice focusing on DWI and DUI defense. If the need should arise, our NH criminal lawyers can be reached at (888) 332-5855.
