Accident on New Hampshire Interstate 89 Involves Snowplow, Car, Tractor-Trailer

Recently, Interstate 89 near Sutton, New Hampshire was closed for two hours as rescue workers cleaned up after a three-vehicle accident that involved a snowplow, a car, and a tractor-trailer.

According to an article in The Boston Globe, I-89’s southbound lanes were closed in the early afternoon after a large truck hit a snowplow truck, which was cleaning the right lane of snow. The impact of the truck pushed the snowplow vehicle into the car, which was passing both the truck and the snowplow on the left.

At the time of the New Hampshire car accident, freezing rain made it difficult for drivers to see and also formed layers of ice on the roadway, which may have made it difficult for the driver of the tractor-trailer to stop in time to avoid hitting the snowplow. New Hampshire state police are still investigating what caused the multi-vehicle collision, but they believe weather played a significant role.

The snowplow driver suffered injuries in the accident. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but his injuries were not life-threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.

It’s important to keep control of your vehicle as much as possible, particularly during inclement weather. Distracted driving in addition to poor weather conditions greatly increases your chances of being injured in a car accident.
