A Center Harbor man suffered injuries when his motorcycle was hit from behind on Route 4 recently, according to an article in the Sun-Journal.
Police are still investigating the crash, but they say that it appears the motorcyclist was slowing down near the intersection of Route 4 and Route 17 when he was hit from behind by a van driven by an elderly Sumner resident. The van pushed the motorcycle into the southbound lane, causing it to spin out of control. Its rider slid across the hood of the van and fell into the southbound lane, where he rolled as much as forty feet before coming to a stop, according to investigators.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he was recently said to be in good condition. He is expected to recover from his injuries. Investigators did not say whether or not the driver of the van was injured. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but it may have come off immediately after he was hit, according to police.
